DÉSIRÉE | Rito has received the Archiproducts Design Award 2020

Rito, launched just a few months ago, has already deserved a prestigious award: Désirée’s new armchair has been given the Archiproducts Design Award 2020 for the Furniture category. This is an important acknowledgement, both because it was awarded by a jury of fifty leading figures in Architecture and Design and because of the top quality of the participants – composed of over 750 outstanding candidates from all over the world.

Rito is designed by Matteo Thun  and Antonio Rodriguez with whom Désirée has been collaborating for some time now. This seat has been defined by its creators as timeless, capable of outliving passing trends. It combines the lightness and minimalism of its structure in tubular metal with the soft generosity of the padding. It’s a magnificent example of sophisticated simplicity based on a concept best-described by three keywords: lightness, simplicity and sleekness. Sturdy with a strong presence when observed from the front, it is slim and tapered when seen from the side. Designed for any room, it is created without armrests to make it suitable even for smaller spaces.

This winning piece of furniture stands out for its unique concept and excellence in terms of creativity, technology and research. Rito portrays these qualities to the utmost degree and the Archiproducts Design Award 2020 jury pointed these out, appreciating aspects such as design, innovation, workmanship and superior aesthetics, as well as its functionality, technical quality and materials.
